The website provides an up-to-date, easily accessible, interactive data base combined with a concise overview of the petroleum geology of Iraq that will be a useful tool for both experienced geologists and those new to the area. The Resource Centre uses tabbed menus and data selection panels provide quick, dynamic access to information in the underlying database (see Content Examples). Access to IPGRCAccess to the password-controlled website is by annual subscription, plus an initial licence fee. Composite LogsComposite logs are provided for more than 70 locations. MapsMaps include regional geology and structure maps, regional depth maps, regional thickness maps, well and field location maps, maps of hydrocarbon shows by stratigraphic intervals, regional play summary map. In the initial datacentre (2013) maps were provided in PDF format, however a new MapCentre was launched in 2015 to provide an updated series of thickness and facies maps with links directly to the underlying regional database, currently under development. Well/Field/Licence location maps are also embedded within the associated datasheets. CorrelationsRegional Well correlations panels are provided for the Paleozoic, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, plus stratigraphic terminology summaries for the Paleozoic to Mesozoic, and Cenozoic. DownloadsDownloadable datasets (in progress) are available for wireline logs (LAS) and well data (CSV format) to enable data to be loaded into clients internal data management systems.
