Iraq Petroleum Geology Resource Centre (IPGRC)
IPGRC is a new and unique internet-based exploration data resource for geologists working on Iraq.
The website provides an up-to-date, easily accessible, interactive data base combined with a concise overview of the geology of Iraq that will be a useful tool for both experienced geologists and those new to the area.
The Resource Centre uses tabbed menus and data selection panels provide quick, dynamic access to information in the underlying database.
Access to IPGRC
Access to the password-controlled website is by annual subscription, plus an initial licence fee.

Petroleum Geology Overview
The Petroleum Geology Overview area provides a concise text summary of petroleum geology of Iraq.
Illustrations
An extensive set of images are included to illustrate the Petroleum Geology Overview.
Data Centre
The Data Centre provides access to detailed datasets including:
- Well Data Sheets (for exploration wells, development/delineation wells, strat tests, the western desert "keyholes", providing location maps, formation tops, test data, hydrocarbon show data, pressure data, other drilling data).
- Field Data Sheets (for producing fields, partially appraised fields and undeveloped discoveries, providing published reserve estimates, location maps, history, status, structural summary, reservoir summary, production summary).
- Licence Summaries (for Ministry of Oil and KRG contracted areas).
- Stratigraphic Data Sheets (in progress).
- Reservoir Data Sheets.
- Bibliography of published references.
Composite Logs
Composite logs are provided for more than 70 locations.
Maps
Maps include regional geology and structure maps, regional depth maps, regional thickness maps, well and field location maps, maps of hydrocarbon shows by stratigraphic intervals, regional play summary map. In the initial datacentre (2013) maps were provided in PDF format, however a new MapCentre was launched in 2015 to provide an updated series of thickness and facies maps with links directly to the underlying regional database, currently under development. Well/Field/Licence location maps are also embedded within the associated datasheets.
Correlations
Regional Well correlations panels are provided for the Paleozoic, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, plus stratigraphic terminology summaries for the Paleozoic to Mesozoic, and Cenozoic.
Downloads
Downloadable datasets are available for wireline logs (LAS) and well data (CSV format) to enable data to be loaded into clients internal data management systems.
