Sedimentary Geology and Diagenetic History of the Jurassic to Permian Rocks of Northern Iraq

Introduction

This report provides a comprehensive description and interpretation of the lithology, facies, stratigraphy and diagenetic history of the Jurassic to Permian succession in North Iraq. Reservoirs and seals are thoroughly documented, intervals with significant organic richness and oil shows are identified. Summaries of tectonic setting and other background information are also included. The results are placed in their broader context and exploration implications assessed, including discussion of established and new plays.
