Sedimentary Geology and Diagenetic History of the Cretaceous Rocks of South Iraq
Introduction
This report provides a comprehensive description and interpretation of the lithology, facies, stratigraphy and diagenetic history of the Cretaceous section in South Iraq based on petrograpic analysis in eight wells.
Reservoirs and seals are thoroughly documented, intervals with significant organic richness and oil shows are identified. Summaries of tectonic setting and other background information are also included. The results are placed in their broader context and exploration implications assessed, including discussion of established and new plays.
- Petrographic logs and reports are provided for the Cretaceous section in 8 wells - The total logged section is approx 47,000 feet.
- Composite logs are provided for the complete penetrated section in 12 wells, surface to TD.
